Harold Eugene BrownFuneral services for Harold Eugene Brown, 81, of Spurger will be 10:00 am Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bridge City. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown passed away August 12th at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.

Harold was born November 20, 1935 to Sewall Roosevelt and Violet Johnson Brown in Asheville, NC. He proudly served his country with the US Navy. He retired from Beaumont Works Dupont after 37+ years as a Process Operator. Harold lived many years in West Orange before moving to Spurger 10 years ago. He was a member of the Broketine Hunting Club and he attended Community Baptist Church of Spurger.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Barbara Jean White Brown; brothers Cecil Edwin Brown, Troy Lee Brown, and Marvin Perry, and sister Marjorie Aileen Brown.

Survivors include wife Barbara Jean Brown of Spurger; daughter Peggy Jean Koonce and husband Bobby Lynn of Orange; step daughter Crystal Hearn and husband John of Beach City; siblings Betty Louise Brown, Earl Allen Brown, Wayne Martin Brown, Jackie Lynn Brown, and Mary Alice Chambers all of Asheville, NC, and Sewall Ray Brown of Rutledge, TN; grandson Jesse Earl Haley and wife Letty Garcia Haley of Boerne, TX.; granddaughters Shiloh Sheree’ Haley and Corrie Jane Hale of Spring, Alyssa, Kelsea, Dalton and Katlyn Hearn all of Beach City, Texas; great grandchildren Madison “Mady” Brooke Haley and Megan Elise Haley; and numerous great, great great, and great great great nieces and nephews.

Harold will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Brown's memory may be made to M D Anderson Cancer Research, 1515 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, Texas, TX 77030.

I knew Harold as a quiet reserve man. Nice and a pleasure to work around. Took care of his job and never bothered anyone. Praying for his family.
