John Dee Huffman
Wheelersburg-John Dee Huffman, 90, of Wheelersburg, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. John was born April 30, 1927 in French Camp, CA to the late Charles and Verna Phinney Huffman. John was retired as a yard master from N&W Railway, he belonged to the Scioto County Chapter of Railway Historical Society, the American Legion Post 23, and Seventh Day Adventist and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores I. Morris Huffman and a granddaughter, Lora Susan Huffman and his second wife, Norma Jean Collins Huffman whom he married January 16, 1996 in Wytheville, VA. He is survived by two sons, Gregory (Deanna) Huffman and John “JD” (Sandy) Huffman, Jr.; a daughter, Cynthia Huffman; a sister, Carolyn K. Pennington; four grandchildren, Chase Huffman, Elizabeth Huffman, Amber Pfankuch and Alexander Wise; three great grandchildren, Damien Huffman, Alana Huffman and Emma Pfankuch and three step-children Connie James, Angela Allen and Larry Whitt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 18, 2017 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Pastor Matt Hancock officiating and interment at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 pm Thursday, August 17, 2017 and one hour before the service on Friday.
