Danny Michael Childers, 67, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 19, 2017. Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 pm Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Kevin Lantz. Danny was born March 8, 1950 in Huntington, a son of the late Denzil and Deloris Beckett Childers. He was a retired employee of Allstate Insurance. He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Childers. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherrie Ann Laparl Childers; two daughters, Tara Hammer (Tyson) and Lori Godfrey (Dana); two sons, Todd Childers (Stephanie) and Chris Snyder; two sisters, Becky Kyle (Dale) and Cheryl Sullivan (Carl); two brothers, Randy Childers and Tim Childers; six grandchildren, Brandon Childers (Kayla), Chase Childers (Tarra), Brevin Hammer, Summer Childers, Abigail Godfrey, and Bella Godfrey; and one great-grandchild, Aubrey Childers and a host of special friends. I just found a couple of weeks back that Danny had passed. Sherrie I am so sorry for your loss of Danny. I remember when you came to mother's and told us that he was dialysis I was real sad. I remember baby sitting for both of you. How good both of you were to me. Hope that you are doing your best to strong it is alright to be sad and cry sometimes. I know how hard it is to loose someone that you love very much.

I have fond memories of growing up and playing at the Childers' home and of Danny. So sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers dear ones.

So sorry to hear this. Spent about 15 years working with Danny and respected and admired him. Danny cared for people and it showed in everything he did. Always enjoyed seeing him around town after the office closed. Sherrie, you & your family are in my & Linda's prayers. 8

Sherrie, I am so very sorry for your loss. Mr.Childers was ALWAYS one of my very favorite patients when I worked the front desk in the Internal Medicine Department. My God give you the comfort that you need during this time of sorrow.
