Chappie has been part of my life since 1980 when he was my professor at UTC. Since then, he has been my friend, mentor, colleague, and boss. I have always known Chappie to be wicked smart, complex, and great fun. He was a tenacious advocate for kids and a gifted teacher. My best professional times were with him as zone disciplinary advisers, and at Dawn off Hwy 58, on Signal Mtn, and in East Lake. I will miss seeing Chappie for a meal here and there to catch up on life.
Love and Peace to Chappie, his mom, his brother, Erica, Shane, the grand-kids, Gabriela, and Bill W.

Dearest Ericka and Shane, I wanted to share my deep felt sympathy about the passing of your Dad. I had worked with Chappie some years ago and he just made work so much fun. I am sure you both know yo had a very special man as a Father. Although I know longer so him on a daily basis I will truly miss him. He was so funny and when we did visit on short occasions we had fun and he was the one that made that happen. I just know he had many friends in Chattanooga and I am sure he made each one feel special. With much love. Ann Greever

It was my honor and privilege to work with your father at Cumberland Hall and again when he returned to the school system to run Dawn School. Your father (and mother) were very influential in my professional career. They were both excellent teachers. Larry was one of those people who could engage the most difficult young person. You could tell he cared for people. He also had a great sense of humor. My condolences to you on your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
