James Olen "Jo" Adkins Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1946 - 2017 James Olen “Jo” Adkins, 71, of Huntington, WV, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with Harold Hamlin officiating. Committal service will be conducted at 10:30 am Saturday with entombment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born July 14, 1946 in Harts, WV, a son of Essie Nelson Adkins of Barboursville and the late Esker Adkins. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy serving during Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Adkins; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Bernard Knapp of Huntington; one son, Ronald Adkins of Huntington; two sisters, Carolyn Topping of Ranger, WV and Sylvia Lucas of Beckley, WV; one brother Esker Adkins Jr. of Barboursville, WV; five grandchildren, Kristin Allen (David), Katelyn Adkins, Michelle Adkins, Jessica Clark (Justin) and Amanda Thompson (Walter) and one great-grandchild, Ashlynn Allen. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
