Jack P. Bragg, 85, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center.

He was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Enon, W.Va., a son of the late John Milton Bragg II and Mamie Beatrice Legge Bragg.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, John Bragg, Joe E. Bragg and Jerry H. Bragg.

Jack was a member of Holy Family Church in Ashland and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181.

He retired after many years of service as a heavy equipment operator and served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Wanda Lee Crowe Bragg of Ashland; sons, John Patrick (Teddi) Bragg of Catlettsburg, Jack P. (Janet) Bragg Jr. of Marietta, Ohio and Michael J. (Cathy) Bragg of Louisville; brother, Ted V. Bragg of Titusville, Fla.; sisters, Onalee Smith of Ohio and Sue Dozier of Lawrenceburg; seven grandchildren, Steven Bragg, Laura Bragg, Kevin Bragg, Mark Bragg, Parker Bragg, Benjamin Bragg and Alex Bragg; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Bragg and Riley Bragg; and a host of extended family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at Holy Family Church with Father John Noe officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel where a Rosary service will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Contributions in Jack's memory may be made to Holy Family Church, 900 Winchester Ave., Ashland, KY 41101; or Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
