Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Paschall Brenner was born May 22, 1934 in Richmond, Virginia and passed away September 29, 2017. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Lance Canter, her grandchildren, Haley, Josiah, Channing and Eireann Canter, sister, Margie Younger, and sisters-in-law, Joyce Paschall and Jayne Paschall. She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Brenner, parents Clyde and Ethel Paschall, and her brothers Hugh Paschall and Jack Paschall. Betty graduated from John Marshall High School. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science from Richmond Professional Institute. She taught elementary school in Richmond and Brawley, California. She married her sweetheart Bill and moved to Huntington WV where she lived for 54 years. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Education from Marshall University. She devoted her life to serving her family, her church and her community. She was a loving wife and mother and quit teaching to become a full time homemaker and volunteer. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She volunteered as a nature docent at the Huntington Museum of Art. For years she co-led the Girl Scout troop in Chesapeake. She attended Chesapeake United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served on various committees throughout the years Betty also served at the Chesapeake Community Center and Community Mission Outreach. After a very long and fulfilling life, she went Home to be with Jesus! Betty was a very kind and loving person who would have done anything for anybody. She spent her life serving others, and devoted herself to serving her family, her friends, her church, and her community! She never seemed to judge people, but treated everyone the same. She had a love for nature, and she created beauty all around her. Her home and her flower garden were always a place of peace and beauty. She loved animals, and cared for them all - cats, dogs, horses, deer, chickens, peacocks, and anything else that wandered onto her property! She had a wonderful faith in God and was never far from Him. Now she will be with Him forever! A memorial service will be held at Chesapeake United Methodist Church on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 4 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
