Nancy J. Davis, 80, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Saint Mary’s Regional Hospital. She was born March 12, 1937, a daughter of William H. Gill and Louis Naomi Beckett Gill. She was a resident of Brookdale in Russellville, where she enjoyed many friends among her fellow residents. She enjoyed quilting and earned several awards from the Saint Mary’s County Fair in Maryland for her quilting creations.

Nancy held a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Alderson-Broaddus College in West Virginia; and, a Master of Science degree in clinical psychology from Texas A & I University. She practiced nursing at King’s Daughter Hospital in Ashland, KY, and was a professor at Texas A & I University. She also enjoyed working with special education students in Virginia Beach, VA. She was a Red Cross Volunteer while serving with her military husband on the island of Guam.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her two late husbands with which she shared the most cherished years of her life: Archie A. Glaspell and Loren E. Davis. She is survived by her son, Sean Glaspell (Leslie McDaniel) of Justin, TX; a daughter, Rebecca Glaspell of Everett, WA; two step-daughters, Kathy Snider of Russellville, and Lisa Burnett (Tom) of Philipsburg, Sint Maarten; a step son, Dr. Charles Davis (Dr. Charlene Dykman) of Galveston, TX; a sister, Elizabeth McDavid (Dale) of Laurinburg, NC; a sister-in-law, Wanda Davis of Russellville; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.

A family visitation for friends will be held Monday, October 9, 2017, from 6:00-7:00PM, at Humphrey Funeral Home in Russellville. A graveside service is scheduled later in the week at Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington, West Virginia, under the direction of Steen Funeral Home of Ashland, KY.
