Roger Ray Adkins, 74, of Salt Rock, WV, passed away October 24, 2017. He was born September 20, 1943, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Granville Dewey Adkins and Edith Leola Nicely Adkins. He was also preceded in death by two brothers. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam. He is survived by one daughter, Tammy (Donald) Gue; one son, Rodney Ray (Cammie) Adkins, one step-son, Steven Scott Williamson; two sisters, Connie Denise (Leland) Adkins, and Lawana Bias; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor David Cardwell. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. To the family, my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. May you find comfort in the knowledge that "there is going to be a resurrection,” as the Bible confirms at Acts 24:15. “Do not be amazed at this,” Jesus assures us, “for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” (John 5:28,29) By meditating on God’s promises found in the Bible, may you find real hope and the strength to keep going.
