I met Patty in 1974. I was fifteen years old and I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. We would visit her home on Boone street in Louisa every Sunday. You could smell the rigatoni sauce cooking as you walked in. She always gave me a job to do to feel a part of the family. We enjoyed many vacations with her. We went on ski trips and to the beach. She was the most generous person I have ever known and the most selfless. She volunteered for the Red Cross and sometimes Sunday dinners were interrupted because she had to call and try to find a way to get a soldier home in a family crisis. She worked in the church and she would take the grandkids to mass. She felt religion was vital. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was a wonderful mother to her sons and treated her daughter-in-laws like her own. When her grandchildren came they were the light of her life. She would drive from Louisa to see them every chance she got. It was often. She never missed a program, ballgame or party. She was the most vibrant human being that made everyone around her a better person. So, Nannie we will think of you often and you will always be in our hearts. I love you! Barb
