Stephen “Poppy” Black, 64, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was born on September 20, 1953 a son of the late Richard and Geraldine Baumgardner Black. He is also preceded in death by two daughters, Belinda Dawn Black and Kimberly Michelle Price; two sisters, Linda Garner and Sandra Hickman; one brother, Greg Black; two grandsons, Justin Smoot and Allen Price; niece, Amanda Woodard; son-in-law, John Durst and the mother of his children, Brenda Gay Smith. He is survived by one son Stephen Shane Black (Jenna Lewis); one stepdaughter, Stephanie Durst; love of his life, Vickey Davis and her daughter, Angela Walls; two sisters, Connie Woodard and Karen Black; one brother, Richard Black Jr., and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at Noon Friday, November 17, 2017 at Blue Sulphur Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Scarberry officiating. Dad I can't believe you're gone. My heart is broken. You were my dad NEVER my stepdad.You were always there for me & never treated me any different that Kim. I will always love & respect you & I am so thankful for the time I had with you. The kids & I will miss you beyond measure ?? Fly high Daddy...I love you ?

R.I.P Steve. I will never forget how we both would sneak down the stairs to watch "The ghost and Mr Chicken" we had such an innocent fun time back then, we were both children. I will miss you my dear friend.

Steve was awesome man and brother in law whom i love and miss dearly.i remember all the times we went karaoke...God gained another beautiful..r.i.p steve black. Prayers to the family and his love of his life Vickey Davis ( my sister)..prayers to all sorry sorry for your loss....love you tammy and roger myers...God please be with his family and his love of his life...
