Grace Virginia “Aunt Ginny” Collier, 93, of South Point, Ohio mercifully was taken by God and angels to her heavenly home on Saturday November 18, 2017 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. She was born November 20, 1923 in Kane, PA, and would have celebrated her 94th birthday, daughter of the late Charles and Grace Collier. After her father died, she and her mother made their home with her sister, Cleona Ruth Liston in South Point, Ohio. Aunt Gin was the baby of seven children and is the end of the immediate Collier family. Aunt Gin was never married but all of Cleona’s children and grandchildren were her children, too. She was united in heaven with her blessed mother who loved her so very much. Aunt Ginny had epilepsy and had grand mal seizures from childhood until she was in her late 20’s when lamictal was developed to stop seizures. Aunt Gin had brain damage from her many seizures and much cognitive ability was damaged in her brain – but she wasn’t incapable of conversation, she was mobile, could work a 1500 piece puzzle, paint beautiful ceramics, quilted, crocheted, knitted and many artistic activities. Aunt Gin belonged to the Sybene Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member for many years until she could no longer walk. She lived in a nursing home for the last nine years of her life and her caretaker was her loving, compassionate and special niece, Sandra Liston Roy who preceded her in death. The last year and half her care taker was her loving niece, Arleen Liston Taylor, who was with her to the very end of her life at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Aunt Gin was preceded in death by her entire family, her parents Charles and Grace Collier; brothers John Alerander Collier, II and Lloyd Charles Collier; sisters Charlotte Collier Whiteman “Aunt Sis”, Cleona Ruth Collier Liston “Aunt Con”, Helen Iona Collier and Lois Collier Hathaway “Aunt Dottie”; brother-in-law Elmer Liston; son-in-law Lorvell Miller; nephew Robert James Liston; and great nephew Christopher Scott Smith. Aunt Gin had many special people in her life and caregivers along with the nurses and staff who cared for her and her adorable, compassionate, kind and loving roommate Ginny Gearhart. Special mention of love goes to Kimberly Alberts and Robin Lynn Sharrow her great nieces. “Good bye Aunt Ginny, we love you and we will all see you again in heaven.
