William Jennings Morrison, Jr., of Proctorville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Bill was born on March 24th, 1936, the son of the late William and Elizabeth Perry Morrison. He graduated from Wayne High School in 1954. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, Bill graduated from Marshall University. He was a teacher, a principal and a coach in the Lawrence County, KY school system. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Smith. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith Conley Morrison of Proctorville, Ohio; two sons, William III of Proctorville, Ohio and Robert (Pam) of Youngsville, NC; two grandsons, Trevor of Youngsville, NC and Will of Canal Winchester, OH; one granddaughter, Paige of Youngsville, NC; one sister, Nan Smith of Huntington, WV; two brothers, Lawrence of Wayne, WV and John of Summersville, WV; a special brother-in-law George Smith of Norfolk, VA; a special sister-in-law, Sue Evans of Hilton Head, SC; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews of Virginia and West Virginia. Bill loved reading, writing stories of his youth in Wayne County, WV, creating memorable cat stories for his grandchildren, landscaping, listening to music and traveling. The family would like to thank Dr. Melin Moses, Dr. Rocco Morabito, Jr., Amy Chase, Dr. Arvinder Bir and their staff. Bill spent his last weeks at home with his family. Hospice of Huntington provided extraordinary care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, friends could, if they wish, make a donation to Hospice. Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of Bill's life on Saturday, February 10, 2018 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, in Proctorville, Ohio.
