Doretha Dee Dee Denise Turner Johnson, 68, of Huntington, WV passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 14, 1950 in Holden, WV in Logan County to Annie Mae Turner and Leonard B. Williams. After the family moved to Huntington in 1964 Dee Dee attended Oley Junior and Huntington High Schools. She was employed by Owens Illinois Glass Factory, Huntington, WV before it’s closing in the early 90’s. She was as avid softball player in her day on the Huntington Mavericks. Dee Dee was baptized at an early age. She was a member of Encouragers Fellowship Church where she served as a faithful Trustee. She was preceded in death by her parents Annie Mae Turner and Leonard B. Williams; her sister Greta Loreda Turner; and her brother Thomas Lewis Turner. Dee Dee is survived by her two daughters Daphne Ann Brown of Nashville, TN and DesaRae Elaine Martin of Huntington, WV; three grandchildren JeJuan Brown, Te’mark Martin and DeAuja Martin; five sisters Mae Vines of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Gordon of Detroit, MI, Donnetta Bennett of Charlotte, NC, Joyce Felder and Fern Turner of Huntington, WV; three brothers Leonard Turner of Charlotte, NC, Gary (Elaine) Turner and Kermit Turner of Huntington, WV; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews including up to being a great great great aunt; and many cousins and friends including special friends Debbie Brown and Jerome Sturkey. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Encouragers Fellowship Church 1630 Doulton Avenue, Huntington, WV. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at the church. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
