Charles Yeley, Jr.
Portsmouth-Charles Yeley, Jr. 93, of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Charles was born May 28, 1924 in New Boston, Ohio to the late Charles and Jennie Albertson Yeley. Charles was a self-employed contractor with Yeley Construction; attended World Wide Church of God; belonged to Western Sun #91 Lodge; he was a 32nd Degree Mason; a member of Scottish Rite of Cincinnati; El Hasa Shrine; he was a Kentucky Colonel; he belonged to American Legion Post #23; the Carpenter’s Union Local and he was a World War II U. S Army veteran. In addition to his parents Charles was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Glenn; two sisters, Irma Fugitt and Naomi Hemphill and his first wife, Virginia Hurley Yeley. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Evans James Yeley; a son Charles Yeley; two adopted sons, Rob Evans and Greg Evans; a daughter, Peggy (Dale) Ruggles; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, February 21, 2018 a Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Rob Evans officiating and interment to follow in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2018 and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
