W. P. “Bill” Counts, 87, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at home. He was born June 15, 1930 in Huntington, WV son of the late Charles and Nellie Workman Counts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ann Counts; two sisters Violet Mae Woodall and Patty Cardwell; and two brothers Donald Ray Counts and Charles Leroy Counts. He was a member of Rome Church of Christ and retired from BASF. He was a Korean War U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He is survived by two sons William Allen (Chrissy) Counts of Proctorville, Ohio and Timothy (Martha) Counts of Kenova, WV; two grandchildren Ashley Smith and her fiance’ Martin Lankas, and Preston Counts; several nieces and nephews; and special friend David Miller. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heartland Hospice. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Minister Chris French. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites.
