Dear Aunt Linda, I am Richard's daughter, the third oldest. I am very sorry that Uncle Ray died and so suddenly. I saw you all many years ago when I was just a teenager. My dad spoke so fondly of his brother and had a great deal of respect for him--his intelligence and humor and his big heart. I hope good memories of him help you in your grief. Love, Barb

I knew Ray Weaver during the three years that I taught at Brandon Middle School in Virginia Beach, VA. He was a great sport, fair and honest, a caring teacher to his students and a compassionate ear to his friends. I have many fond memories of my friendship with Ray and his wife Linda.

To Linda and Family of Ray and Linda: The Milton High School years with Ray and Linda are memorable for being in the fabulous Fifties, but more-so for the likes of this wonderful couple. Ray was and is one-of-a-kind: a friend for life and eternity. We will meet again because a friend like Ray will not miss a glorious reunion. But we will miss you in the meantime.

I had the honor of working with he and Linda at Providence. He always had a smile on his face and a special way of making you smile even if you were down in the dumps. Ray had a great sense of humor. He and I would often banter back and forth. I remember one time Linda said,"Ray I think you met your match" I am proud and honored to call him my friend. My condolences to Linda, Cammy, Levi, and family. RIP Ray, you were an amazing person and will be missed.

My dear brother "Ray" You sent this message to me while both of us were living and now, too late, I return it with the same feeling of love you expressed: "Our worlds keep changing, and the stories of our lives keep unfolding in new directions--but our lives are forever connected, and no matter where our journeys lead, I'll always feel close to you --because you're so important to me and because you're a wonderful brother, a loving human being and a top-rate sailor--always. Until we meet again...

Ray, you were whistling and singing, as always, just a couple of weeks ago. Why did you have to leave so quickly? Maybe heaven needed your cheerful voice for the heavenly choir. Many of us left behiind are shocked and saddened by your sudden departure. We are left to reminisce on your generosity, hospitality, love, and sense of humor (that smile and chuckle).... everything that made up that unique personality of yours. We all love you so much..... our hearts ache.....we are sure going to miss you!

My condolences to the Weaver Family. I was stationed with "Weave" on the Kennedy. He taught me to play cribbage at the expense of my wallet. He was one of the finest people I have ever worked for and have known.

My dear friend, you and Randall behave yourselves. The deer and fish will have a chance to multiply now for your grandkids to enjoy as the two of you did.
