1933 - 2018

Deloris Irene LambertDeloris Irene Lambert, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Born June 29, 1933 in Salt Rock, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hallie and Hattie Ray. At birth she was so small that her father called her “Tiny Tim” and the nick name “Tim” remained hers throughout her life. Tim showed her love through acts of care and service to her family. She opened her home to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and any get together. She was an excellent homemaker and baker. Her specialties of strawberry birthday cakes and zucchini muffins made from Pops’ garden will be missed. She excelled as a Nanna creating fun backyard memories and special times with her family. She is beloved by her grandchildren. The love she showed her family is her legacy and has touched three generations. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Rondel Grayson Lambert, her older sister Donna Courts, and nephew Steven Mark Ray. She is survived by her daughters Ronda Beth Daniels (Norman) and Dee Ann West (Tracy); grandchildren Maggie D. Garms (Drew), Sayde D. Spears (Thomas), Catherine Grayson Daniels and Trey Grayson West (Dusti); great-grandchildren George Garms, Delaney West, and Mackenzie Chapman; sisters Gina Flora (Ron) and Stella Bartram (Phillip); brother Toby Ray (Pattie); nephews Mark Finley (Debbie) and Shawn Bartram (Megan); nieces Donetta Black (Ron), Kelly Dawn Thompson (Chuck), Ashley Bartram, and Amanda France ; great-nieces Addy and Olivia Bartram; great-nephews Ethan and Lane France and Derek Chapman; and extended family out west. The family sends a special thanks to the caregivers at the Charleston Gardens memory care unit. A visitation will be held this Sunday May 6, 2018 at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV from 2-3 p.m. followed by a service conducted by Pastor Mark Finley at Wallace Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations please be made to any Hospice organization. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallce.

Dear Beth and Dee Ann, My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. I remember what a beautiful and lovely lady your mother was. Fond memories bring back carefree childhood days at your house playing in the basement and the yard, riding bikes, sleepovers, and feeling welcomed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Cindy

Words seem inadequate to express the sorrow felt by the loss of Deloris. My heart is with you.  As well as this beautiful encouraging promise, John 5:28,29 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."   Imagine that day when all our dear loved ones are brought back to life through a resurrection and reunited with us again.  What a truly beautiful promise of comfort and hope and how we long for that special day so close at hand.
