Charles C. Charles C. "Chuck" Wentz, 89, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at home. He was born November 6, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio. He was the son of the late Morris (Sallie) Wentz and Bertha Cremeans (Midge) Arquette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Wentz; one sister and brother-in-law Louise Wentz (Wilson) Adkins; and one sister-in-law, Sara Booth Pullen. He is survived by his children Vicky (Perry) Newman, Cathy (Jim) Easley and Chuck (Terri) Wentz; six grandchildren Kirk (Heather) and Brett Newman, Kristen (Sean) Knight, Cortney (Christopher) Zusin, Brittney Easley and Chuck M. Wentz; seven great grandchildren Behlin, Bryce, Max and Luke Newman, Ellie and Benjamin Knight and Caden Zusin; and several special nieces and nephews. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in Berlin, Germany and Wyoming. Later he joined the Air National Guard serving at Ft. Meade, Maryland during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a member of the VFW and DAV. He retired from INCO Alloys and was co-owner of Whil-A-Way Marina in Guyandotte, WV for a few years. He was an avid boater, loved the river and fishing at Lake Erie. We would like to thank our care givers Debbie and Michelle, and A & L for the care they provided to our dad. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV with entombment to follow. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the V.F.W. or D.A.V. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
