1947 - 2018

Joyce Fatio FelderJoyce Fatio Felder, 71, of Huntington, WV passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018. She was surrounded by a host of family and friends during her last moments. Joyce was born on March 11, 1947 in Holden, WV in Logan County to Annie Mae Turner and Leonard B. Williams. She was employed by Corbin, Ltd., a men’s suit manufactory in the west-end of Huntington. She also worked at Grayson’s Caring Hands & Loving Hearts, an assistant living facility for seniors and Pressley Ridge, a foster care program for at-risk youth. She was a talented seamstress, a dedicated caregiver, but her passion for foster kids is what she was born to do. Foster care was her true calling and life mission. Joyce was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington, WV where she was a member of the women’s chorus, recreation committee, sanctuary choir, and Mass choir. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Greta Loreda Turner and Doretha Denise Turner Johnson; her brother Thomas Lewis Turner; and two daughters Regina Darlene (Felder) Turner, and Candace Kay Turner. Her memory will be cherished by many, including but not limited to her children, Rodney of Huntsville, AL, Gary (Tobi) of Winchester, VA, Rhonda, Valeria, Robert “Bobby”, Bruce (Ja’net), Tavon, Zerrick, and Cameron, all of Huntington, WV; four sisters; Mae Vines of Columbus, OH, Mary Gordon of Detroit, MI, Donnetta Bennett of Charlotte, NC, and Fern Turner of Huntington, WV; three brothers, Leonard Turner of Charlotte, NC, Gary (Elaine) Turner, and Kermit Turner of Huntington, WV; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several foster children, nieces, nephews, and cousins; a “BFF”, Rosemary Elaine Turner who she shared a special relationship with. Joyce Felder, the matriarch of the Felder family lived a great life and strived every day to make a positive impact on the life of others, especially children. She gave many children a fighting chance at life, even when others gave up on them. Joyce was an amazing woman and her legacy lives on through her teachings, guidance, leadership, discipline and most importantly, the love of Christ that she shared with all. Thank you so much for all you have done in the life of others! Rest in Peace Joyce Felder, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Funeral service will be conducted 12 noon Friday, May 18, 2018 at Real Life Christian Center, Huntington, WV with Bishop Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, May 18, 2018 at the church.
