Sherman Allen Sibert, 54, Dad, Brother and very special Uncle and Friend, passed away on June 3, 2018 at home in Proctorville, OH. He was born on July 24, 1963 in Huntington, WV to the late Leonard L. Sibert and Vada M. Lowe-Sibert. Sherman grew up in Chesapeake, OH, where he was a stranger to no one. After High School, Sherman went on to work with his brother David Sibert, as an auto body technician and did so until Dave’s untimely death, after which time Sherman spent most of his days working on his cars and helping out friends. Anyone who knew Sherman well, knew he was an extremely talented man and had a heart of gold. There are several family and friends who were especially close to him growing up and they know who they are. Those who spent so much time with him in his last years of life also know his heartaches and his pain and we all know that he is at peace now and will be fondly remembered, spoken well of and missed dearly by all who loved him. Although he never married, Sherman did have a wonderful daughter, Amber, who he adored and who gave him so much joy and laughter. He enjoyed racing, was crazy about his old Dodge Dart, his Plymouth Belvedere, and especially Christine, his 57 Plymouth Fury. In addition to his parents, Sherman was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne Sibert of Cincinnati, OH, Harold David (Bessie) Sibert of South Point, OH and Thomas Lynn (Connie) Sibert of Chesapeake, OH; and one sister, Sue Sibert, of Friendship, OH. Sherman is survived by his daughter, Amber Dawn Wilburn, of Columbus, OH; his sister, Sarah Ann (Dino) Sibert of Proctorville, OH; a brother, Donnie Jones of Huntington, WV; 10 nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and very good friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with memorial gathering of family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. There will also be a reception to celebrate Sherman’s life Friday June 8, 2018 at South Point Community Center 408 2nd Street West, South Point, OH beginning at 4:00pm.
