Florence Marie Hastings, 96, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at her daughter’s residence. She was born October 28, 1921 in Chesapeake, Ohio daughter of the late Elton and Martha Pruitt Ferris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hudson “Huddy” Hastings; her son, Larry Hastings; sons in law, Ray Beatty and Clarence “Pat” Ferrell; her siblings and their spouses, Lilly (Jerry) Zuzzioi, Goldie (Bo) Harmon, Evelyn (Jim) Blevins and Lucille (Cluster) Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Diana “Dee” Beatty and Sharon A. Ferrell; her daughter-in-law Joanne Hastings; her grandchildren, Debbie (Larry) Galloway, Larry (Karen) Nance, Michelle (Dwight) Galloway, Stephanie (Ed) Martin-Thompson, Kim (Jeff) Shano, and Jeremy Hastings; her great grandchildren, Joshua Nance, Nathan Galloway, Lane Galloway, Caitlin Duke and Christopher Martin; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friends, Alan Clonch and Lena Saba; all who she loved dearly. The family would also like to extend a special recognition to Grace McMasters, her loving caregiver. Also, a very special thanks to Hospice of Huntington and the angels that work there, Becki, Connie, Trish and Rev. Tracy, their thoughtfulness and support will not be forgotten. Florence adored each one of them. Florence was a member of Teresa Chapter #257 O.E.S., Proctorville, Ohio and also a member of Scottown Methodist Church. She had a joy of meeting new people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets, vacations in Florida, fishing, playing rummy but most of all spending time with her family and friends laughing, cooking and reminiscing. Funeral service will be conducted 12 noon Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio.
