1957 - 2018
Joyce Hazlett, 60, of Proctorville, Ohio, passed this life surrounded by her loved ones Aug 1, 2018 at the OSU James cancer center. Just like in life Joyce gave everything she had to fight her illness. Joyce was born, October 03 1957 in Huntington WV to Phyllis and Raymond Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Billy Moore (Theresa). She leaves behind two sons, David (Sara) Spangler and Gary Spangler and very special Grandson Cole Spangler; brothers and sisters, James Moore, Janie (Ronnie) Ferguson, David (Jean) Moore, Diana Edwards, Jimmy (Tammy) Moore, Mike Moore, Judy (Tommy) Heffner and dozens of nieces & nephews. Joyce was a former nurse at St. Mary’s spending most of her years as a Neuro Nurse, where she made several lifetime friends. The family is following her wishes of no services. To celebrate her life, the family will gather in private in her favorite place in the mountains of Tennessee. The family would like to thank the many nurses and Dr’s from Ohio State James that worked so hard to help her fight her illness. She left behind a poem she wrote many years ago in her most prized possession and we would like to share it in her honor. Love’s flowing in the wind Only pausing now and then Gently stirring passions in our mind Bringing back forgotten times Love’s flowing through the trees Silently whispering through the leaves Breezing in and out of our hearts Replacing all the broken parts Love’s flowing through the air Reaching out, calling us to share Opening doors closed long ago Enveloping us in a warm soft glow. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.

Joyce was such a good friend and neighbor. She truly loved her family. I really am going to miss her. But she is watching us all from Heaven.

I remember Joyce as a fellow Fairland classmate. I saw her working in the ER at Cabell once and she had the same beautiful smile on her face while talking to a patient. I'm so sorry for your loss.
