Pamela Smoot Burgess, 56, of Chesapeake, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord after an extended illness on Monday, August 6, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born December 11, 1961 in Huntington, WV daughter of the late Carlyle and Frances Brammer Smoot. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother-in-law Paul Murdock. She worked as a LPN for 27 years with most of her career in geriatrics and was currently employed with Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Huntington, WV. She is survived by her daughter Alicia “Nikki” Martin and fiancé’ Jackie Williamson; her son Nathan Ellis; and husband Scott Burgess. She was also the world’s greatest Nana to four grandchildren Abigail, Emilee, Gabriel and Devyn. She is additionally survived by one brother Rick (Linda) Smoot; twin sister Tammy Murdock; sister Carla (Walter) Hendry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio.
