Gary ”Red” Rucker, 73, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at home with family after a long illness of lung disease. He was born September 21, 1944 in Chesapeake, Ohio son of the late Oley and Alma Rucker. He is survived by his sisters Nancy and Judy Rucker of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Brenda (Tim) Mann of Ashland, KY; nephew Chad (Cindy) Antzes; and great nephew Alex Antzes of Proctorville, Ohio. He loved his nephews like they were his own children. He worked for C.B.I., NTL/Boilermaker. He liked riding his custom built dune buggy and his motorcycle plus watching football and Nascar races. He built flag poles and flag holders for village of Chesapeake plus surrounding villages for many years. He also helped put up flags around Chesapeake for the holidays plus he helped build Chesapeake Park and Memorial Park at Village Hall. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Jay Love officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery, Chesapeake, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 at the funeral home.
