On Saturday, August 18, 2018 in the a.m. Inez Adelia Lewis Phillips, 83, of Huntington, WV went to her Heavenly home in Cornerstone Hospital, Huntington with her daughter Crystal, and her sister Montella by her bedside. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at Young Chapel AME. Church 836 18th Street, Huntington, WV. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. She was born October 5, 1934 in Huntington, WV daughter of the late Humble and Evelyn Howard Lewis. She is survived by her daughter Crystal Phillips; grandson Phillip Rogers, Jr; one great granddaughter Kailee Rogers; sisters Montella Lewis of Huntington, WV, and Wanda Kay (Roderick) Huguley of Pickerington, Ohio; brother Robert Holly (Lucy) Lewis of New York; special friend Damon Core who was like a son to her; dear friend Gladys Curry; sister-in-law Gigi Lewis; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roger Phillips; sisters Frances “Dolly” Day and Sandra Jean Burgess; brothers Richard Jackie Lewis and William “Bill” Lewis; grandparents Blanchard and Virginia Joseph, and Cline and Cassie Howard Liggins; and two special friends Margaret and Beverly. The family extends a special thank you to Cornerstone Hospital 2nd floor for their kindness, compassion and devotion to our family member during her last weeks here on earth and to Cabell Huntington Hospital ICU. Inez’s expression of God like love will always be such a blessing to Crystal, Montella and family, and to all of us you are a sweet, sweet spirit in every way.
