Judith Kay Lewis, 74, of Proctorville Ohio passed peacefully on Sunday August 26th, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born on July 17, 1944 in Davin, WV to the late Rae and Clyde Nicely
She was preceded in death by her son, Chad Lewis, as well as brothers Russell Perry and Robert Nicely, and sisters Marion Swann, Janice Lusk and Edith Burke. Judy graduated from Huntington High School. She went on to work as a clerk in the municipal judge's office in City Hall. It was there that she single handedly led the movement to change the dress code for women across all of Huntington, allowing them to wear pants in the workplace. She took 10 years off to raise her children and then returned to work as a legal secretary for Marty J. Stillpass, Attorney at Law until she retired in 2009. Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life, her husband of 45 years, Edward W. Lewis; her daughter and best friend, Seka (Michael) Gregor, of Proctorville; four grandchildren that were her absolute pride and joy, Emily, Mason, Braelynn and Laney; siblings, Jerry (Pat) Nicely, Jean (Michael) Fredrick, Betty (Jeff) Swann and Clyde (Pam) Nicely Jr.; as well as several special nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Jeff Black officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the funeral home.
