Verna Marie Henson, 69, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born July 7, 1949 in Huntington, WV daughter of the late Carroll and Mildred Byrd Ellis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Teresa Medley and one granddaughter Angie Singfield. She was a member of Rockwood Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived her husband, Marvin Henson; one daughter Sue (Jim) Crites of Ashland, KY; one son Marvin Bo (Stephanie) Henson; seven grandchildren Brad, Owen, Abby, Noah, Haleigh, Brianna and Nathan; two great grandchildren Kayden and Asher; and one sister Helen (Bruce) Collier of Chesapeake, Ohio; two brothers Timmy Ellis and Greg Ellis both of Chesapeake, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Jerry Galloway. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
