Eva Clark HalleyEva Clark Halley, 97, of Proctorville, Ohio crossed over to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV surrounded by her three daughters who saw much peace on her face. She was born May 7, 1921 in Gallia County, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Pat” Halley; her parents Noah and Minnie Clark; two sisters Garnet and Billie; granddaughter Karen; great granddaughter Becky; and two sons-in-law O.A. “Rocky” Lane and Bill VanMeter. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughters, Demaris (John) Higgins, Raymona VanMeter and Diana Lane Racer (Greg); grandchildren Todd, Jason, Cheryl, Patrick, Christiann and Shaun; 16 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; one great great great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Factory and a faithful member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She was very active for many years with the Senior Citizens group and served on various committees at her church. Eva believed everyone should vote and worked on the election board for 50 years! She enjoyed to travel and remained active until her last year. She fought kidney disease for many years and was known for her “never quit” attitude. She was union strong, having once laid across RR tracks to prevent trains being loaded and leaving. Her strong opinions were voiced and she was a strong independent woman for many years before it was considered possible for women. “That was our mom and we will miss her forever.” Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Anthony Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Crown City Cemetery, Crown City, Ohio. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
