Cierra Paige Gathings, 22, of Ft. Hood passed away on December 8, 2018 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, WV, with Pastor Paris McSweeney officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Cierra was the only daughter of Andre and Tina Gathings. She was born on February 19, 1996 in Huntington, WV. Cierra was a proud military brat and made friends that became family all over the United States. She attended High School at Waynesville High School in Waynesville, MO. Cierra enjoyed collecting many things, taking toys apart and putting them back together, Pokémon, going on mother-daughter dates with her mom, and hanging out with her brother. She was currently attending college at Central Texas A&M to obtain a degree in forensics. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Juanita Gathings and Willie Chattic, and her uncle, Timothy Gathings. She is survived by her loving parents, Andre and Tina Gathings of Ft. Hood; her brother, Isaiah Gathings of Ft. Hood; her grandparents, Dovie and Scott Dunn of Huntington, WV; her uncle, Kelvin Gathings of Davenport, IA; her aunts, Michelle Rule of Columbus, OH and Janice Penny of Grand Bay, AL; and numerous cherished military made friends and family. Losing a loved one is one of the most painful losses in life and I k ow how painful this is. In your grief, I stand with you and I support your family . I don’t know who you are but looking at your beloved daughter’s beautiful photo just broke my heart.
Please take heart. I am an Alumni of Texas A&M Central Texas and an Army Officer.
