Bernie  CooperBernard L. “Bernie” Cooper, age 75 of Springfield formerly of Proctorville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 17, 1943 to the late Charles and Fannie (Stapleton) Cooper in Proctorville, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Bernie is preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and Bill Cooper; brother-in-law, Ray Adkins and his sister-in-law, Mary Cooper. Bernie leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 52 years, Anna Cooper; daughter, Stacy (Chris) Holland; God Children: Jon (Johanna) Krieg and Lynn (Richie) Adkins; grandchildren: Dylan, Matthew, Emma and Ava Holland. He is also survived by his brothers, Bob (Marion Rae) Cooper, Charles "Smokey" (Judy) Cooper, and Gary Cooper; his sister, Rachel Adkins; numerous nieces and nephews as well as his faithful companion, his dog Max. Bernie retired from O.S. Kelly Manufacturing Company in Springfield, enjoyed fishing and roller skating. He also raised pigs for over 30 years. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with his funeral beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio assisted the family with local arrangements.
