Howard O. Adkins, 81, of Columbus, OH, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Rev. David Cardwell. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. He was born January 14, 1938 in Cabell County, a son of the late Clifford Carl and Lillian Marie Nida Adkins. He was a retired truck driver with Keebler Co for 38 yrs., and a veteran of the US Army, 1st Calvary Division. Howard was preceded in death by two daughters, Anita Adkins and Darlene Adkins; son, Brian Adkins; grandson, Tyler Stanfield; and brother, Ancil “Bub” Adkins. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Brenda Ross Adkins; daughter, Stephanie Stanfield of Columbus, OH; son, Kevin Adkins of Gahanna, OH; sister, Glenna Cremeans, of Salt Rock, WV; granddaughter, Lauren Burger (Jeff); and great-granddaughter, Paisley Burger. So sorry to hear of Howard's passing. Worked with him at Keebler,and he trained me as a driver. He was a good man. He was respected as the best at Keebler. We liked it when he had a rough day and got a "little sporty" with the boss. I'm sure he will be missed.
