Betty Imogene Miller

Wheelersburg-Betty Imogene Miller, 91, of Wheelersburg, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her family. Betty was born October 12, 1927 in Portsmouth to the late Howard Russell and Mary Riepenhoff Turner. Betty was retired as an office manager for Nationwide Insurance; a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church; St. Peters Ladies Guild; 4-H Leader; Meals on Wheels; St. Vincent DePaul and Mercy Hospital Guild. Betty dearly loved dancing, gardening, piecing quilts and enjoying her grandchildren’s activities. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Forrest Bud Turner and a sister, Mildred Bihl. Betty is survived by her husband, Earl “Pug” Miller, whom she married July 1, 1950 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wheelersburg. Also surviving are four sons, David (Jeanne Ann) Miller, Michael (Teri) Miller, Dean (Leah) Miller and Rick Miller; three daughters, Karen Miller, Diane (Steve) Allen and Nancy (Jeff) Stegman; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. The family extends a special thanks to caregivers, Tammy Harris and Brenda Quick for their loving care of Betty.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, January 25, 2019 at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church in Wheelersburg with Fr. Joseph Yokum presiding. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, January 24, 2019 with recital of the Rosary at 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Betty’s name to St. Peters Ladies Guild or SOMC Hospice. Condolences may be made to the family at www.harrison-pyles.com.
