1955 - 2020

Gene Rex Taylor, JrGene Rex Taylor, Jr., 64, of Chesapeake, Ohio beloved husband, father and grandfather went to sit amongst the angels on Saturday, February 22, 2020 in Huntington, WV. Gene was married for 39 cherished years to his wife, Brenda Wells Taylor. He was an adorned father to his daughters, Jennifer Taylor Beckett and Jessica A. Taylor; and was dearly loved by his only granddaughter, Annelise Marie Beckett. Additional survivors include two sisters, Debbie Grew of Greenville, N.C. and Katherine (Benjamin) Griffith of Rochester, MO; one brother Keith (Maryann) Taylor of Orlando, FL; one niece Kim Grew; and two nephews Christopher and Brandon Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Rex Taylor, Sr and Melba Snyder Taylor; and brother-in-law Steve Grew. Gene worked his whole adult life but loved working in his early years at SEOEMS as a paramedic the most. One of his favorite pass times was being a member of the Tri-State Goat Producers Association. He loved music and his favorite band was The Beatles. He especially loved listening to music with his granddaughter, Annie, while she would twirl and dance. He will always be greatly loved by his family. Private family services will be held. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
