Cora “Coe” Louise Chaffin, age 92, of Huntington went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2020. Cora was a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful and caring mother, and a very loving and cherished grandmother. Coe graduated from Huntington East High School in 1944. She worked as a waitress for 25 years at Bailey’s Cafeteria and was a secretary for Kellogg Independent Holiness Church for 35 years. She was very involved with her church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the Ladies Prayer Band, the church choir, and formed a gospel trio with her sister Myrtle and sister-in-law Betty. She greatly loved fishing and camping and looked forward to going to Frostproof, Florida every winter with her husband Wes. Coe and Wes deeply loved one another and were not only wife and husband, but best friends for the past 45 years. Cora served as a mother-figure to her grandchildren. They held a deep bond with her and will hold her in their hearts forever. Cora was preceded in death by her parents, Asa and Ruth Holley, her sisters Myrtle Christian, Mildred Bell, Virginia Carney, and her brothers Asa Jr Holley, and Howard Holley. She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years Wesley Chaffin, her son Robert Farnsworth and wife Jean, stepson Michael Chaffin and wife Libby, and stepdaughter Becky Spaulding and husband Michael. She is cherished and deeply missed by her grandchildren Kimberly Rakes and husband Michael, Scott Farnsworth and wife Sabrina, Ritchie Farnsworth and wife Connie, Tammy McDonald and husband Micky, Jimmy Farnsworth and wife Tina, Mandy Ellison and husband Dr. Alex, Cameron Dewitt and wife Kristin, and Michael Chaffin Jr. and wife Mellissa. She will also be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren Kaytlin Rakes, James Farnsworth and wife Danyelle, Preston Farnsworth and wife Jacinda, Steven Farnsworth and wife Samantha, Jessica Farnsworth, Dillon Farnsworth, Nate Hylton, David Simms, Kelly Slay and husband Mike, Adrienne Dillon and husband Alonzo, Adam and Tara Patrick, Cassie Salmons and husband Matt, Sarah McDonald, Rachel Theiss and husband Matt, Mathew McDonald and wife Katie, Elijah Farnsworth and wife Morgan, Joshua Farnsworth, Jack Ellison, Walker Ellison, Aubrey Dewitt, Savannah Dewitt, Myra Rose Chaffin, and Trey Chaffin. She also leaves behind 26 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by close friends Jane Noble and Mary Whitmore and close sister-in-law Jenny Chaffin. Private family services will be held at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville Ohio. Pastor Roger Mooney will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Dock’s Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV.
