Barbara Anne Craig

SCIOTOVILLE- Barbara (Barb) Anne Craig 61 of Sciotoville Ohio, passed away on August 8, 2020 at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth Ohio.

Barb was born in Portsmouth Ohio to the late Ralph & Katherine Sims on 10/31/1958. She went to school in South Webster Ohio. Barb married her sweetheart Ron Craig on July 28, 1978 in Wheelersburg, Ohio, they celebrated 42 years of marriage with family and friends in July. She worked for Scioto County Vocational School, Life Ambulance (First Med EMS) & Portsmouth Ambulance. Barb is preceded in death by her father Ralph Sims & Mother Katherine (Popavich) Sims of South Webster Ohio, granddaughter Brooklyn Sierra Hall of Hope Mills North Carolina. Barb is survived by husband Ronald Craig of Sciotoville Ohio, two children Brandy (Dean) Turner Aiken, South Carolina, Katherine (Nicki) Craig Sciotoville, Ohio, five siblings Harveena Fenton, Diana Coffee, Sandy Free, Carol Burt, Ronald Sims, grandchildren Austin Craig Sciotoville OH, granddaughter Kali Italia Konold Honolulu Hawaii, great grandchildren Avery Craig & Anthony Konold. In laws Crystal (Greg) Graf, Terry (Kim) Craig, multiple nieces & nephews. Barb had special relationships with her nieces & nephews which she helped rear at one time or another through the years. Special relationships included those of the six sisters club. Barb was loved by all who knew her. Besides spending time with her family and friends she loved going to the casino and playing slots, training dogs (she always called herself the dog whisperer, fishing, traveling, canoeing, mowing grass and working with her plants. Barb had a passionate love of nature, she always said in everything she did she was creating memories. The family is extending a special thanks to the workers of SOMC Hospice Center for the kindness, service and dedication they have for the caring and attention to patients and families. A special thanks goes to Sherry Lawson Barbs palliative care nurse who cared for Barb while at home. Words cannot express our gratitude for your gentle care, kind words, and thoughtfulness. Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Family and Friends will be invited to attend a celebration of life on 10/31/2020. My heart breaks for the entire family. Barb was such a beautiful soul. Fly high my dear friend. Condolences to the entire family. I will not be able to attend the memorial. I will be returning to Florida. Prayers and Gods blessings to the family.
