Melissa Ann Johnson, 49, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, in Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. She was born May 13, 1972 in Huntington, WV daughter of the late Paul and Shirley Johnson. Before illness, Melissa was a Registered Nurse (BSN) at Riverpark Hospital in Huntington, WV. Prior to that, she was an LPN at Res-Care for many years. She is survived by her son, Brennan (Johnda Townsend) Thornburg of Ironton, Ohio; grandchildren, Matthew, Bailee, Brantley and Journee Thornburg; siblings Michael (Cheryl) Johnson, Mark Johnson and Michele Johnson; longtime partner, Paula Ferris; friend and son’s father, Rusty Thornburg; and a host of family members and friends. Private family graveside services will be held. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
