Ernest Hugh MontrosoErnest H. Montroso, 75, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021, in Cornerstone Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born September 8, 1945, in Huntington, WV, son of the late Rock Montroso and Juanita Harshbarger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Timothy Montroso; and his brother Rocky Montroso. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years Freda Short Montroso; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Montroso and Matt Grobe; grandchildren Alan Montroso; Eric and Stephanie Montroso and their mother, Vickey Tolson; great grandchildren, Scottie, Malaya and Kaiden; his brother Danny Montroso; wonderful nieces and nephews including his most special niece Kathy Harrison; many fun cousins including closest cousin Phil Montroso; brother-in-law Bill (Sharon) Short. Ernie worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years. He worked in Avon Lake, OH and Louisville, KY until he retired and moved back to his hometown Proctorville, OH. Ernie absolutely loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and spent as much time as possible outside. He was a natural in the kitchen. Although his specialty was Italian food, he could cook anything and it was all delicious. Ernie loved making people laugh, pulling pranks and was especially witty. He will truly be missed. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
