Conley B. Grimes & family
Friday June 20, 2003 at 12:39 PM

Although I moved away from Ona, WV in March 1983, I have never forgotten the friends and families of the local people that lived in our neighborhood. My mother, Lurlene Grimes, still lives just a few steps away from where Ernie and Maxine lived for so many years. When I used to go visit the Conrads, I would often walk along Mud River and come up the bank in the back of Mr. Hogginbothan's and sometimes he would be out in the yard. We would share a few words and then be on our way. That was way back in the early 1960's. He would always toot his horn if he saw me on my bicycle on Blue Sulphur Road. We also used to go to Mud River Baptist Church when our family first moved to Blue Sulphur Road in 1958. Please accept a warm sympathy from the Grimes' family in the passing of yet another friend in our community. May she rest in eternal peace with our Lord. So long Maxine, even if it has been years since we have seen one another. Gone but never forgotten..... Conley B. Grimes (Junior Grimes' son) 7911 Alvarado Road Richmond, Virginia 23229-4208
