 AVANELLE PEARL RICHMOND DODDS, 71, of Huntington, wife of Robert "Bob" Dodds passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Henson Mortuary with the Dr. Ed Grant and Rev. Ralph Sager officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born March 12, 1932 at Spurlockville, W.Va., in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late James Hallie and Mabel Edith Scragg Richmond. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse of 29 years with St. Mary’s Hospital. She also attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She was a member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church, a volunteer for ECCHO food pantry in Milton, and a 1948 graduate of Barboursville High School. Additional survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James "Jim" and Carol Dodds of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Butch Morning of Milton and Beverly and Dick McGhee of Barboursville; nine grandchildren, Glenn Dodds and wife Emily of Virginia Beach, Va., Jason Dodds of Glen Burnie, Md., Spec. Christopher McGhee of Germany, Amanda and Holly Morning of Milton, W.Va., Corey and Casey McGhee of Barboursville, W.Va., Pvt. Shannon Turner of Fort Jackson, S.C., and Sandra DeLoach of Virginia Beach, Va.; great-granddaughter, Kathleen Brooke "Katie" Dodds of Virginia Beach, Va. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Agnes R. and Howard Lovejoy of Huntington. Friends may call Friday, July 18, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Henson Mortuary.
