JAMES ALBERT COTTON, 81, of Huntington passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2003, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2003, at Good Shepherd Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronald Page. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born January 22, 1922, in Cabell County, West Virginia, son of the late William Luther and Ella Chapman Cotton. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Catherine Chapman Cotton and two brothers, Harry and William Cotton. He was retired owner of Cotton Elevator Company. Mr. Cotton was a member of Good Shepherd Freewill Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir director. Surviving are his wife, Ferrol Ross Cotton; two sons, Welford Lee Cotton and James Roger Cotton of Huntington; stepsons, Ronald Page of Delbarton, W.Va. and Jennings Page of Apple Grove, W.Va.; three daughters, Deloris Seeds of Barboursville, Alesia Adkins of Barboursville and Ramona Rivero of Manassas, Va.; stepdaughter, Rebecca Cabell of Barboursville; brothers, Clifford Cotton of Huntington, Bobby Ray Cotton of Chillicothe, Ohio and Danny Cotton of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Eva Hughes of Chesapeake, Ohio and Carolyn Clay of Huntington; 14 grandchildren, 7 stepgrandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, October 31, 2003 from 6-9 p.m. at Henson Mortuary.
