
Leo Womack, 88 of Barboursville, WV, passed away December 28, 2003 at home after a brief illness. He was born September 6, 1915 in Putnam County West Virginia, a son of the late William and Fannie Angle Womack. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Pansy Zeigler, three brothers Woodrow Womack, Ray Campbell, and Ben Campbell and one-step son Corky Ball. He was the former owner of Tri-state Pump and Supply in Catlettsburg, KY for over 30 years and retired at age 82. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in World War II where he received the Purple Heart. Leo loved raising a vegetable garden in which he spent most of his time. He also loved to fish and he loved playing and listening to music. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Betty Jean Womack – which died 2 days later, one daughter Vickie Woodrum and husband Bob Woodrum of Crooksville, Ohio, two step daughters Becky Coffman and husband Scotty Coffman of Hurricane, WV, Libby Ball of Huntington, WV, one step son Ricky Ball and wife Darlene Ball of Cross Lanes WV, one step daughter-in-law Kathryn Ball of Hurricane, WV, one sister Madge Graham of Hurricane, a special friend Jane Hastings, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends he loved very much. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington and special care givers from Pro Nursing; Teresa Adkins, Charlotte Baumgardner, Carol Heffner, and Mary Faulkner.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday January 2, 2004 at Henson Mortuary. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday January 3, 2004 at Henson Mortuary, by the Rev. Jack Borders, burial will follow at the Ridgelawn Memorial Park Chapel.
