Evelyn Morris Burns Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1909 - 2004 Evelyn Morris Burns, widow of the late Fred C. Burns, former Sports Editor for the Herald-Dispatch, died at home on Thursday, March 4, 2004. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Freddie and Charles Tanner of Huntington, grandson Scot Tanner and his wife, Jackie, of Huntington, granddaughter Cheryl Tanner of Frosburg, MD. Also surviving is her sister Mary Ann Carter of Pompano Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry B. and Sallie Conner Morris of Huntington and Milton, sisters, Irma McClung, Kathrine Morris, and Thelma Morris. It is requested the no flowers be sent. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Huntington.

Dear Freddie and family, So sorry to read of the loss of your mother. My mother passed away in January after a long life so I can relate to your loss. I have such fond memories of all the H/D people and their families. A generation is truly passing and they were such special people. My thoughts are with you.
