Dear Stephanie, I was saddened to hear of Joe's untimely death. Let me extend my condolences to you, your mother and the children. I feel privileged to have known and worked with Joe for a brief period. He will surely be missed by many at FirstMerit and in the community. I am sorry for my delay in extending my condolences. Kevin Patrick told me only today (8-2-04) of Joe's death. I do not get the Canton Repository and thus missed the announcement. My prayers go out to you and your family. Regards, Steve

Dear Mrs. Adkins, As you know, I went from kindergarten through 12th grade with Joe and I called you Mrs. Dawson when I was a student in your classroom. All my memories of Joe are of a friendly guy, always smiling, who everyone knew and liked. He was the type of student you wished you could be, smart and at the top of all of his classes. The world has lost a great person, but it is a better place because he was here. My sincerest condolences to the entire family, Bill Grimes Captain, USAF 774th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron Karshi-Kanabad Uzbekistan

Dear Family, We are very sorry for your loss of Joe. Joe was a warm, supportive, genuine person that we will miss greatly. I was fortunate to work with Joe at SouthTrust and know from our conversations that Joe deeply loved Paige and Reese. Joe kept their pictures in his bookcase directly across from his desk where her could easily see them every time he glanced up from his work. Joe beamed every time he mentioned their names. Please know that we are thinking of you and will keep you in our prayers. Sincerely, Nancy Barnett
