Mrs Cremeans,
I want to express to you and your family my deepest sympathy in Homers passing. I learned of Homers homegoing when I returned from visiting my daughter and her family in Jamestown, Ky this past weekend. As a young boy working for my father at Stewarts, I have some fond vivid memories of Homer. He was always kind and friendly to me even though I was mischevious at times. As a matter of fact he and Arnold Sowards were the only two charter members of my HoBo club. This was about 1950, the dues were 50cents and I put the money in a coffee can and buried it under our club house that I built by the back building on our lot. In the Spring when we were so busy Homer was careful to park his S.U.C.O. truck in such a way as not to take up any spaces for our customers. The last time I saw Homer was a few years ago when he was in the Drive-in, and we had a chance to talk about old times. Hr reminded me of a time when I was hiding behind the back bulding and as he passed in his truck I threw a rock and hit his truck. He stopped, got out, and went into our office to inform my dad what had happened. Needless to say that was the last time I threw a rock at Homers truck. Those were good times for me growing up and I will miss him.
Blessings, John Mandt Sr.
