1935 - 2004
 Mr. Charles Allen Black, Jr., 69, of Barboursville, WV, died peacefully at his home Thursday morning, September 16, 2004. He was born in Huntington, WV on June 11, 1935 a son of the late Charles Allen Black, Sr. and Helen Keefer Black Young. He is preceded in death by his brother, Billy Lee Black. He worked 40 years for CSX in Huntington. He was a lifelong member of 9th Avenue United Methodist Church and a current member of Pea Ridge United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sally Annette Eaves Black. He was the caring and. supportive father of three surviving children: Son, Ted Black and wife Dora Sue of Arlington, VA; Daughter, Charlann Black McKenna and husband Chris of Ona, WV; Son, Jeff Black and wife Mary of Milton, WV. -He has seven grandchildren: Seth Black; Kenneth, Stephanie and Heather McKenna; Adam, Ryan and Evan Black. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Black Payton and her husband Darrell of Philippi, WV, and his sister-in-law Sharon Eaves Dabney and her husband Jack of Chesapeake, Va. as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 20, 2004 at Henson Mortuary with Rev. Sue Jarrett officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Dear Sally. I am sorry to learn of Charlie's death. As a classmate of his through jr. high & high school, I will always remember him as one nice,swell guy & a good basketball player. My condolences to you and your family. May God Bless you and grant you peace and comfort in knowing he suffers no more from such a terrible disease. I can relate to all you've been through during his illness. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family during your time of grief.
