Sorry to hear about mr. Sturm. I worked for Sturm machine shop in West Monroe LA. After graduating from trade school . Worked there from 1980 to 1986 and we were shut down because of union in west Virginia. Our pension was half paid to us iwas in my twenties then. I am 63 years old now and if there is any way that your company can send me the other half of my pension I could really use it now to whom it may concern. Lamont Landry

I, personally, have a very close friendship with Leonard's brother, Steve, (worked for him for sixe years) whom I have not yet talked with, but expect to tomorrow. I met Leonard and talked with him occasionally during my tenure with (Brother) Steve and admired his intellegence, spirit and pride in pursuit of his goals. Steve and Kay, What a life he had! A roller coater ride. Dick and I enjoyed the times we spent with Leonard and know that he will be surely missed. It is hard to lose a father and the void is ever with us. Please know that in time the hurt and confusion will deminish and the joys of memories will last forever. He was a dear and giving man and you should be proud. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with you both at this time. Please know, we are only a heartbeat and a telephone call away. God bless you both. Dick and Pam (Harbour)Reed

This message is for Steve. I read the obituary page everyday here in Richmond. I was saddened to read about the death of your father. My dad and I sowed the grass seed around the machine shop in Baboursville many years ago and we appreciated the business. It always looked so good when I came back home from Richmond to visit family and friends. My Dad has been dead for nearly 12 years so I know the grief and anxiety that you are going through. The Grimes family would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Sturm family and your friends during this time of sorrow. May the good Lord give hime rest and peace that life did not always bring. May God's hand of mercy be with you and yours during this time of grief and this Christmas Season. Conley Grimes & Family.

My late husband Harvey (Jay) Sullivan was so fond of Leonard. They grew up together on 18th Street in Huntington. The last time they talked together at the machine shop, it was about the Lord. Leonard's Aunt Alberta Cummings was also very proud of his success.
