Faye  M. FranklinFAYE M. FRANKLIN, 97, of Huntington, WV., passed away Thursday, February 3, 2005 in St. Mary's Meddical Center. She has now joined her husband of 74 years, James Verlin Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted 2p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2005, at HENSON MORTUARY on Pea Ridge Road in Huntington, the Rev. Hugh Summers, Rev. Donald Walker and Rev. Bobby Burns officiating. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born March 13, 1907, in Branchland, WV., daughter of the late Albert and Maggie Adkins Messinger. She was owner and operator of several business establishments in the area. As part of her commitment to the community, she was a volunteer at Cabell Huntington Hospital and provided communtiy service throughout Lincoln County, West Virginia. Faye and her husband were affiliated with the United Baptist Church in Lincoln County and were instrumental and faitful workers in establishing churches in their community. She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. Mrs. Franklin is survived by three daughters, Avoline Adkins, Peggy Saundeers and Linda Midkiff and her husband Lanny, all of Huntington; two sons, James Franklin and wife Jean of Huntington and the Rev. Forrest Franklin and wife Carrie of Chesapeake, Ohio; seven grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grand children, along with nieces and newphews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Faye will be greatly missed by friends and acquaintances who loved her dearly. A special thanks is extended to sisters Peggy and Avoline for providing loving care for our mother.
