JOHN RAYMOND HALLEY, 86, of BafboursviUe, died peacefuUy at home Saturday
Sept. 17. Born Dec. 23, 1918, in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was predeceased by his loving_wife,
Rena Perry Halley, in 1992, and his siblings, WiJliam Halley, Fern King, Rachel Stover,
and Clare11ce Halley- He was retired ftom Union Carbide Corporation in South
Charleston, W.Va., after 35 years of service. The Halleys resided in St. Alhans until
1979, at which time they moved to Barboursvil1e. In their retired years Rena and
Raymond enjoyed a winter home in Fort Pierce, Fla. He was a deacon in the Baptist
church and a long-tim.e dedicated Christian. M. HaUey served in World War II as a
Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy, at the Philippine Sea Frontier. He is survived by his
three children, Eleanor Halley Womack and her husband Jennings, of Greens burg, Pa.;
the Rev. Michael D. Halley and his wife Cannen, of Suffolk, Va.; and lohn Steven
Hatley and his fiancee, Janie P. Seagle, of Hjckory, N.C. He also had six grandchiJdren,
Mark J. Womack and wife, Dani, ofGreensburg, Pa., Scott S. Womack and wife Lone,
of Greens burg; David W. Halley, of Suffolk_Va.., JeffreyM. Halley and wife Thmmy, of
Jacksonville, Fla., Amiee Nicole Haney, of Charleston W. Va.; and Grant Wilkins Halley
of Charleston. Ten great-grandchildren survive; Emma Kate Womack, Amanda Womack,
Scott Womack, Jr., Erica Womack, Alexa Womack, Carla Womack, Rachel Womack,
Nicholas Hatley, Cameron Allen, and Sarah Halley. Special thanks are given to Eddie
Estep, Libby Black, Laura Hammond, Lisa Estep, Becky Riddles, Laura Eplin, and
Kenny Eplin for their loving care give over the past 13 months. The family will greet.
friends and relatives Tuesday evening, September 20, 2005 , from 6:30 PM until 8 p.m. at Henson Mortuary, 6357 East
Pea Ridge Road, Barboursville. A funeral service will be conducted. by the Rev. William
A. Winters Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Henson Mortuary. . Burial will be in Forest Memorial
Park, Milton.
