Ron Mounts had many friends and I count myself as one of them. I have been fortunate enough to have kown Ron for over 30 years. I worked with Ron for 20 years and he was a pleasure to work with and be with anywhere or anytime. I am very saddened about his passing as are all who knew him. I know it is especially difficult for you, Jeanie, but Ron will always be with you for his love for you was that strong.

Ronnie and I grew up together and had many, many wonderful years together. "Ronnie" was also known as "mousie", why, I don't remember exactly. In those years there were no drugs and etc., in Williamson, so we could do just about anything and enjoy our young years without getting into trouble.
Mrs. Mounts worked at Leatherwood Dairies and the local Leatherwood milkman would always give us "ice" to sip on, it was used to cool the milktrucks in those years. We always got extra ice because Mrs. Mounts worked at Leatherwood.
I must say that Mr. Mounts would take us fishing at CABWALINGO State Park and we always had plenty of Heinz products as well as over at the gas station. When Heinz would come out with a new product, the gas station would always get to sample it. We still use Heinz products loyally at our house today because of Mr. Mounts.
We will always miss Mr. and Mrs. Mounts, they were genuinely good people, good neighbors, and good friends, as was Ronnie.
To say that I am very saddened in hearing Ronnie has died is mildly put. I am sure Tubby Farley will be very saddened as well. We all had such a great time growing up in Fairview.
I miss Barbara as well as Homer. It was always great when Homer (was in service at the time) and Barbara would come back to Fairview. I believe Homer was in the Air Force and since you live in Sumpter, SC I would bet he served there.
Tell Barbara and Homer that I/we intend to move from Pt. Pleasant WV to Laurinburg, NC 10581 Sandhurst Drive area in the next year or so. I have purchased about 77 acres there and I/we intend to relocate there sometime in the future.
I am sorry that I did not know Ronnie's wife well, I met her once at a cookout at Tubby Farley's house.
There are no words that can adequately describe the loss of such a good friend, even though we have been separated for many years, yesterday was only yesterday.
My mother Shirley fell at her house in Fairview about 1 month ago, she is at our home in Pt. Pleasant recuperating from the fall. I guess mother, Nannie Stepp, and Mrs. RT Price Jr. are the last three original Fairview women left. Nannie lives in the Williamson Highrise Building, Mrs. Price lives in the Persinger Mansion.
I am a retired Army Chief Warrant Officer with over 40 years of service and retired US Government Supervisor as well. Brother Bill was an engineer and retired from AT&T/Western Electric in Baltimore, MD and still lives north of there in Bel Air. Sister Joyce Galyean lives in Fredricksburg, VA. She has been a school teacher for many years and is going to retire in 2 years. Of course daddy died about 15 years ago and mother's health is garded, but she does very well considering.
Again, we are very saddened by Ronnie's death, we were such good friends. Williamson and Fairview Addition were nice places in the old days, but are now just a worn out past of history, like most of our old aching bodies. I/we liked Ronnie and he will be missed at these end of times.
